WORCESTER City Women FC have confirmed their move to Sixways Stadium, leaving Claines Lane behind them.

City Women, who now run as a separate organisation from the men's team, will make the switch from Claines to the 11,000-seater stadium ahead of the 2023/24 season.

City Women will join non-league men's football side Worcester Raiders and Worcester Warriors Women as being tenants at Sixways under the new owners Atlas.

Worcester City Women FC CEO, Nicole Allison said: "This is an incredibly exciting moment for our club, our fans, and the entire community.

"We played our last home game of the 22/23 season here and the experience was fantastic - all the players, coaches and fans loved it.

"Part of our mission at WCWFC is to grow women and girls’ football in the area and attract top talent, and being at Sixways is a key part of that.

"We can grow our fan base and reach, ensure a great playing surface all year round and provide a fun, safe and engaging experience for all fans.

"Sixways' is more than just a venue for our matches; it will be a hub for community engagement, and we’ve already been part of some great events held here to foster a deeper connection with the fans and residents of Worcester."
