A MAJOR city road is at a standstill as drivers report gridlock caused in part by temporary traffic lights.
Bilford Road in Worcester is reported to be bumper to bumper with drivers facing significant delays as traffic grinds to a halt this afternoon.
One driver, speaking this afternoon, said: "We haven't moved anywhere in 15 minutes. It's very annoying. Now I'm on Astwood Road, all is fine. But Bilford Road is a nightmare."
There is traffic management including multi-way signals on Bilford Road and this has added to congestion near the tip which can be an issue at weekends.
Cadent are performing work between March 25 and May 10.
