A 25-year-old man is due to be sentenced for an attack on a transgender person which left the victim injured.

Jack Hudson is due to be sentenced for assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Worcester Crown Court on April 19.

Hudson, of no fixed abode, admitted the attack when he appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday, March 20.

The attack happened outside Tesco in Castle Street in Kidderminster on February 23.

A police officer from the offender management team, based at Worcester Police Station, said Hudson had used offensive terms towards the victim before the assault.

The next hearing will be at Worcester Crown Court on April 19 with the sentencing exercise on the committal for sentence expected to take 20 minutes. 

Court records show the case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. No indication has yet been given with regard to a victim personal statement. 

The defendant was remanded in custody at the previous hearing in Kidderminster.
