A MOTORWAY in Worcestershire has re-opened following a crash.
Traffic was stopped on the M42 in Worcestershire northbound between J1 (Bromsgrove) and J2 (Redditch) due to a crash.
The incident happened at around 3am this morning (Thursday) causing all three lanes to be temporarily closed.
West Mercia Police were in attendance at the scene.
National Highways initially warned motorists to allow for extra journey time due to the delays.
But the incident has now been cleared and all three lanes on the M42 have been re-opened.
"The scene is now clear and all lanes have re-opened on the M42 in Worcestershire northbound between J1 (Bromsgrove) and J2 (Redditch) following a collision.
"Thank you for your patience. Please have a safe onward journey."
West Mercia Police said a white SUV crashed facing the wrong way, with the driver arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
"We were called to reports of a white SUV car that had crashed and was facing the wrong way on the M42 eastbound near Hopwood Services around 1.50am this morning.
"The carriageway was closed until around 3am while debris was cleared.
"A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of drug driving (cannabis)."
