An evening of folk fun is coming up in Bromyard.

The Folk in the Foyer event on Friday, May 10 at 7.30pm, "is a double bill of vocal virtuosity, melodic mirth-making, and memorable music".

The line-up includes Bromyard musical duo and couple Sally Stamford and Jim Rolt, dubbed 'Mice In A Matchbox', and BBC introducing stars The Lost Notes.

'Mice In A Matchbox' have a diverse musical style with roots in folk, rock, and soul.

The couple have toured their music around the Atlantic in a small sailing boat to destinations including Portugal and the West Indies.

They've also performed at popular festivals such as Nozstock, The Green Gathering, and Glastonbury.

Described as "sublime, fearless and entertaining, and wonderful", they are known for taking traditional and modern folk tunes, beloved favourites, and some original material, and delivering it all with dynamic harmony arrangements.

Moseley trio The Lost Notes also feature on the double bill, after being lauded by the BBC.

Formed in 2014, they have been "taking the folk world by storm", according to Folk For Folk's Sake Radio.

The band writes songs about a variety of subjects, like the perils of one-night stands, plastic surgery, the plight of bankers, Greco-Roman health and safety failings, mules and mermaids.

Their music is in line with peers like Fleet Foxes, Fairport Convention, and Crosby Stills Nash and Young, according to Rocking Magpie.

The live performances start at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets for the show, taking place at the Conquest Theatre on Tenbury Rd, are available for £10.
