THE Worcester Warriors Foundation have confirmed they will relocate to a new home after 15 years at Sixways Stadium.

The move has been made by the Foundation's Trustees due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding both Worcester Warriors as a club and the Sixways Stadium, which has been their home since 2008.

The stadium is currently under the ownership of Atlas, who completed their takeover at the ground at the start of May following the club going into administration and subsequent liquidation last year.

The foundation, which is the Warriors' independent charity partner, will make the move into the heart of Worcester at its new home; the Royal Porcelain Works, in Severn Street, Worcester, which is owned by The Bransford Trust.

A statement from the Foundation, read: "Following the subsequent sale to Atlas (new owners at Sixways), there continues to be much uncertainty, particularly a lack of any public commitment to play elite rugby.

"The Foundations Trustees have debated for months how to move forward and have concluded it was necessary to publicly reiterate the Foundation's independence and to dispel unambiguously any connection whatsoever with Atlas.

"Unfortunately, this will necessitate a move away from Sixways, a decision not taken lightly. It will now move to a new home in the centre of Worcester City."

CEO of the Foundation, Carol Hart, admits it was a decision that was not taken lightly but was one that had the Foundation's best interests at heart; one of which being to keep the legacy of Cecil Duckworth alive.

"The last few years have been challenging," said Hart. " Like many organisations, we fought hard to maintain our delivery through the pandemic. We then had to face the huge challenge of the collapse of Worcester Warriors for whom we were the independent charity partner.

"The decision to create our own path, completely independent of Sixways dispels any ambiguity, is exciting and brings new opportunities that we look forward to sharing soon.

"We would like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to the people who rely on our services for not losing faith in us. Plus, we will be forever grateful to the many individuals and businesses who have offered support to us, and the Warriors Supporters for their continued friendship and encouragement.

"We will continue to involve you all in our plans so that we can keep the true Warriors spirit, and the Duckworth legacy alive and we look forward to welcoming you into our new home."
