Villagers are holding their first table-top sale of the season to raise funds for a local landmark.

Proceeds from the spring sale at Lower Broadheath Village Hall on Saturday, March 25 will go to the Friends of Christ Church.

Treasurer Margaret Sealy said the charity’s income traditionally came from annual donations and skittles evenings at The Bell Inn.

“With most households having to cut back on spending nowadays, we need to do something different and want to get a wider cross-section of our community involved with our fundraising in the future,” she said.

The sale takes place between 10.30am and 2.30pm with families invited to explore the church itself and the village’s newly-refurbished playground while they are there.
