NINE North Midlands players have been invited to the Midlands Under-18s Development Day at Uppingham School on December 6.
The nine were selected after impressing playing for North Midlands in their recent three match programme of county matches against Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire.
Hooker Dan Morgan (Ellesmere College and Wrexham), tighthead prop Charlie Hill (Bromsgrove School and Telford Hornets), lock Harry Dawson (Bournville College and Moseley), back row forwards Wes Blackhurst (King Edward Vi Camp Hill and Moseley) and Ben Shimwell (King’s Worcester and Ledbury), scrum-half Oli Gaston (Hereford Cathedral School), fly-half Joe Hunt (Bromsgrove School and Luctonians), wing Ales Hearle (Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Church Stretton) and centre Will Davies (Thomas Telford College and Church Stretton) will now have a further opportunity to press their claims for selection for this season’s Midlands Under-18s team.
The squad of 45 will be reduced by 10 before the Midlands Assessment Day at Broadstreet RFC, near Coventry, on January 3.
