WORCESTER City joint manager Matt Gardiner will warn his players against believing they have done the hard part by bringing Solihull Moors back to Aggborough tomorrow night (7.45pm).

A 1-1 draw at the Vanarama National League North leaders gives City a great chance of securing an FA Cup fourth qualifying round berth.

But Worcester must now complete the job by inflicting Solihull’s first defeat of the season with a tough, long trip to National League high-fliers Gateshead awaiting the winners on Saturday, October 24.

City blighted Solihull’s perfect home record with their battling draw on Saturday but Gardiner knows the task will be just as tough for tonight’s replay.

Deon Burton’s equaliser 15 minutes from the end cancelled out Stefan Moore’s penalty on the stroke of half-time with the visitors having the better of the chances in the second period.

Gardiner said: “As a group I thought we were excellent on Saturday.

“Solihull had won every game at home this season so to go there and get a draw was a great achievement.

“But we will be under no illusions going into the replay. They are a really good team and we know all about the quality they possess.

“You only have to look at the calibre of players they are bringing off the bench to realise they will be up there at the end of the season.

“We know they will create chances but it was pleasing that many of the saves Nathan Vaughan had to make on Saturday weren’t from open play.”

Burton and Lee Hughes forged an experienced strikeforce on Saturday with the pace of Dan Nti and substitute Tristian Dunkley creating further problems for their opponents, particularly in the latter stages.

Gardiner added: “I thought we had more possession in the second half and worked their keeper well.

“With the likes of those players in the side, we know we have a goal threat.”

Tonight’s replay will be Hughes’ final game before he starts a four-match ban, while Burton will be looking to add to his tally of two goals in as many cup ties.

Gardiner has called on the supporters to come out in force when £7,500 is up for grabs for the winners.

“They were great on Saturday,” he said.

“So many travelled to Solihull to cheer the lads on and it really gives a lift to the players. It would be good if we get that sort of atmosphere again in the replay.

“We all appreciate how the supporters have stuck with us this season and in each game, even when things haven’t been going our way.

“We know it’s not been easy having to travel to home games at Aggborough but we really do appreciate their support.”

The virus that kept midfielder Danny Jackman out of the side on Saturday is likely to sideline him again tonight.

Forward Ashley Vincent’s back problem will be assessed ahead of the game as will the foot injury that forced defender Tyler Weir off in the final few minutes at Solihull.

Gateshead are sixth in the National League, having won eight, drawn three and lost five matches this term with a healthy return of 27 points.

Kidderminster Harriers, who are bottom of the National League and still searching for their first win of the campaign, have been drawn away to Stourbridge in an intriguing cup derby clash.

Gary Hackett’s Stourbridge booked their place in the draw with Saturday’s 1-0 success over Rushall Olympic at the War Memorial Ground.
