SIR – So Banners in Bromsgrove won a Healthier Choices Food Award (Worcester News, August 1).
Worcestershire County Council’s own health advice tells us that the bulk of our diet should be fruits and vegetables, with much smaller amounts of protein foods.
Banners’ menu is based around large amounts of meat. The only reason I can see for this accolade is that the meat is locally grown. This doesn’t necessarily make it healthier than other meat – slightly less fat than some perhaps but that’s all.
