WORCESTERSHIRE'S outgoing Poet Laureate will be ending her year in style with a flurry of performances.
To mark the end of her 12 months as the county's Poet Laureate, Heather Wastie is cramming 3 different performances and a workshop into this year's Worcestershire LitFest festival.
On Wednesday, June 15, she will be presenting 'Weaving Yarns' – poems and songs, with accordion, from real life stories of people who worked in the Kidderminster carpet industry.
The event starts at 7.30pm at the Museum of Carpet in Kidderminster and tickets include entry to the museum from 6pm.
Then, on Thursday, June 16, she is running a free poetry workshop in the morning at St George's Hall, Bewdley, and the same evening she will be at Camp House Inn, in Grimley, presenting 'Idle Women of the Wartime Waterways'.
Her final performance is at Hopfest Music Festival, in Bewdley, where she will be inviting open mic performers to join her in the poetry tent.
