EVESHAM will be celebrating all things vintage as the fourth Evesham Vintage Festival gets ready to move into town.

The festival is taking place on Crown Meadow on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 28 and 29.

All eras will be covered from wartime to the Swinging Sixties, with dancing, bands providing live music and hot rod vehicles making a statement.

Organises Brett Pillinger and Lizzie Taylor-Smith are both hoping for some vintage summer sun to party the weekend away.

"The council and many local businesses have been behind us all the way and very supportive, especially Spires and Hartwell and Millvale printers. Everyone has been very enthusiastic and it has grown a lot since it was first started in the town square," said Mr Pillinger.

"People are invited to 'dress to impress' in vintage gear or perhaps a wartime service suit or their old rock 'n roll kit. For the younger ones, how about the hippy 60s," he added.

Over the weekend there will be live music and entertainment from Kitten Von Mew, The Del Ray Rockets, local singer Ruby La Mont and the D-day Dolls.

Dancing displays will be everything from jive to belly dancing and there will be instructors helping people to have a go.

Motoring enthusiasts can expect a horde of classic cars, hot rods, old motorbikes. Anyone who goes along with one will receive a discount on the entry gate.

The Fleece inn, at Bretforton, will be running a real ale bar on the meadow plus there will be a selection of food stalls.

There will also be a selection of vintage stalls selling all things vintage from clothing to antiques, as well as a military display with a selection of vehicles from Ashdown Camp.

The event runs from 11am to 10pm on Saturday and 10am to 10pm on Sunday. The cost on gate is £12, Saturday, £10 Sunday or £15 for the weekend. Under 16s go in free.
