STAFF at an animal charity are set to host a fund-raising bake sale in aid of homeless pets.

The Blue Cross team, based in St Andrew's Street in Droitwich, will dress up as World War Two Land Girls for the Paws for Tea event on Saturday, May 7, from 10am.

Nicky Carr, Blue Cross shop manager in Droitwich, said: "Paws for Tea is a great fundraising event and it’s a perfect excuse for a catch-up over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

"We hope lots of people will come along and join us - Blue Cross improves the lives of thousands of pets each year, and it’s events like this that make it possible."

Visitors can enjoy a host of baked treats and all the money raised will go towards the care of sick and homeless pets cared for by the Blue Cross.

Local pet-lovers are also being invited to host their own tea parties for needy pets at Blue Cross.
