POLICE say they will crack down on drivers who drive irresponsibly and sometimes dangerously in Malvern.

Police in Malvern they are 'cracking down' on drivers who use their vehicles irresponsibly, causing noise and alarm to others. Officers will be paying particular attention to Roman Way shopping park in Malvern by carrying out high visibility and plain clothes patrols.

Safer Neighbourhoods Police Officer, Cliff Green said: "We have recently received complaints of cars being driven dangerously in the area, which during the evenings is a popular meeting place for young people and their vehicles.

"Whilst not all are involved in causing the problem there are those who demonstrate their lack of consideration for others by having loud exhausts, playing loud music, revving engines and driving badly.

"This causes major disturbance and alarm to local residents and others using the area. We have recently teamed up with VOSA officers to inspect vehicles with defects such as noisy exhaust systems and have issued drivers with prohibition orders.

"Anyone person causing this anti social behaviour will be dealt with robustly".

Those with information can call West Mercia Police on 101.
